The first version: Biomodd [ATH1] (Built in Athens, Ohio, USA in 2007-2008)
- Computers and plants are put inside transparent case
- Computers are overclocked to speed up performance (but they also become hot)
- Plants thrive on the excess heat
- Overheated computer components are cooled using algae flowing through tubes
- Algae becomes too hot, so an aquarium full of fish is used to cool down the algae
- The water from the aquarium is used to water plants inside the case
- The computers are running an open source, multiplayer computer game that has been modified to reflect the plant ecosystem in the case
| The second version: Biomodd [LBA2] (Being built in Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines in 2009)
