The Master Class in New Media Art Practice

As part of its partnership with UP Open University, Biomodd [LBA2] offers a course centered on Biomodd in particular and new media art practice in general.

Who can take the course?

  • Members of the public can register for the course as a summer certificate program. You will receive a Master Certificate on New Media Art Practice for your work.
  • UP students eligible to enroll at UPOU can apply to enroll for MMS 198: Special Topics in Multimedia: Master Class in New Media Art Practice to participate in the course. Preference will be given to students registered in the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies program.
Because the course offers a limited number of slots, we may not be able to accommodate everyone who wishes to register for the class. You must apply for the course.

Duration

The course lasts over approximately four weeks. To see all specific dates associated with the course, see the project calendar.

How to apply

Apply for a place in the course by completing the form on this page. Note: application deadlines may be past by now.

Make sure you have read this page thoroughly and have browsed through this site so you understand what is expected of you and what you can expect from the course.

Fees

Please consult the table on the course application page for course fees.

Do I need to take the course to participate in Biomodd?

No. There are currently over 70 people on the Biomodd Team email list, many of whom are working with the project on a volunteer basis. Even if you do not register for the course, the Team would still love for you to get involved.

If you're wondering whether you should register for the course or volunteer as a Team member, this table might help you decide.

Do I need to live in Los Baños to participate in the course?

No. You need to spend a significant amount of time in Los Baños, but as long as you meet the requirements of the course, you do not need to live there. However, UPOU's guest house (aka, Biomodd House) and a large hall at UPOU, the Oblation Hall, will both be available for people involved with Biomodd. Learn how you to find your way to Los Banos.
